Welcome to the Magic page! Here you will find all you need to learn that which makes the Fantasy genre what it is.

Magic in Telgard is wonderful, powerful, and intricate. There are no spell lists or specific tasks required...training and advancing in Magic is tailored to every individual. There are, however, some things about Magic that every player should know.

First of all, magic is greatly feared in the vast majority of Telgard. That is, casting any kind of spell in a common tavern is likely to start a witch-hunting mob. Mages are required to be circumspect when casting magic or risk the wrath of their fellows.

Second, magic is hard to advance in, primarily because of the fear it instills. Most magic-users gravitate into Guilds and Orders of like-minded mages in order to protect themselves, and they will only teach someone who is sworn to them. It is thus difficult to find a teacher unless one finds a Guild to teach them.

Third, magic has its own dangers, Resonance and Surges. Both of these are described in detail in the links to the left; if you plan on using magic, you MUST read that section, because it WILL affect you and there is no way around it.
