Time
is the most enigmatic of all the Sorcery talents; mages who
manipulate time are also intimately connected and in contact
with Brewesha, the Keeper of the Balance, though they rarely
feel her presence.
Time
is a weave of events, and a Time mage functions by altering
the weave. It is difficult to change the weave; that affects
all the rest of the weave from that point on, and the more
that will be changed, the more effort goes into making the
initial change to the weave.
Time
Scars are nearly always imperceptible; the mage is often made
amnesiatic of certain events, driven insane from an influx
of possibility, or outright destroyed as if he had never been
born--with no one else remembering him.
Appropriate
time focuses are things that represent a weave--a spider or
web, cloth, a loom--or things that measure time, like a sundial,
waterclock or measured candle.
LEVEL
ADVANCEMENTS:
None:
As with all sorcery talents, awakening almost always causes
the mage to move to the Apprentice level.
Apprentice: The mage can perceive the Weave of Time. This
perception is greatly limited both through time and space,
as the Weave encompasses both; the only events that can be
viewed in the past or future are ones right in the Apprentice's
location and for a few minutes before and after that time.
Journeyman:
The mage's perception of the Weave increase to roughly a few
days, and the distance to about what a man could walk in a
day. He may begin to create general time effects such as slowing
down time or speeding it up, but this effect is very general,
concentrated mostly where he stands and losing concentration
as one moves further away until it reaches the end of the
mage's perception of the weave.
Mage:
The mage's perception of the Weave increases to months timewise,
and the distance that a man could walk in a month. He may
create effects such as he did before, but concentrate it upon
a single part of the weave; i.e., on a single person or target.
Adept:
The mage's perception of the Weave increases to decades, and
the distance to encompass nearly any place in the known world.
He may cause a wrinkle in time, causing something to jump
from one point in time to another and cease to exist in between.
LOST ABILITIES: It is rumoured that mages once had
the ability to view nearly any part of the weave they wished
and could completely stop the flow of time in a region.
