DWARVES IN GENERAL:

Physical description: Dwarves are squat, stocky and incredibly tough creatures, ranging in height from about 4 to 4 and a half feet. They are nearly as wide as they are tall, and that mass is virtually all muscle. Dwarven men cultivate long beards as a sign of maturity, and dwarven women often have silky facial hair as well. Women tend to be slightly smaller than men, but otherwise the two sexes are highly similar.

Dwarves live primarily in the Kingdom of Garr, where their government rules from the Depths of Korgarr. Other scattered villages are spread all over the mountains, with the two chief villages being Dirgarr--which guards the Kir pass--and Zilgarr, which is on the border of Korgarr and the Dark Woods. Dwarves are often gruff, but they are highly honourable creatures and true friends if you can earn their loyalty.

DWARVEN PCs:

Dwarven PCs are limited in the magic they may choose...they may only possess the Elemental or Alchemy talents, but their skill in making magical items is nearly unsurpassed. They also possess infravision, enabling them to see in the dark. They are hardy creatures, very tough to kill through poison or wounds. The Dwarven Racial Skill is Stone Meld, enabling a dwarf who chooses this skill to communicate and eventually manipulate stone through an act of will.

For more information about the dwarven racial skill, Stone Meld, please see the Skills page.

DWARVES AND THE OTHER RACES:

Dwarves have a close relationship with their neighbours, the Delfae, and they communicate with them on important matters regularly. As with the other races, dwarves tend to only have trading relationships with them, with the exception of the ss'tiss, whom all dwarves respect ever since that lizardlike race saved their King during the Scourge.
